The EdTechTeam Orange County Summit featuring iOS will be at the beautiful Serra Catholic School. “Serra Catholic School is a Diocese of Orange parish school and the first multi-parish Catholic School within the Diocese of Orange. We currently serve as a ministry to four parishes in the cities of Rancho Santa Margarita, Mission Viejo, Lake Forest and Ladera Ranch along with their adjoining communities. Serra Catholic School, a fully accredited school, opened in 1995 with 250. Serra Catholic School offers curricular programs that meet the diverse learning needs of a broad spectrum of students that includes high achievers as well as special needs students who require individualized assistance of instructional aides. The parents pay a per-child tuition fee in addition to fundraising responsibilities, registration fees, and capital campaign contributions.They also have a preschool program located on Holy Trinity Catholic Church’s property in Ladera Ranch. Speakers

George Couros

George Couros is the Division Principal of Innovative Teaching and Learning for Parkland School Division and an Innovative Learning and Leadership Consultant. He has worked with all levels of school from K-12 as a teacher, technology facilitator, and school administrator. He is a sought after speaker on the topic of innovative student learning and engagement and has worked with schools/organizations all over the world. George is also the creator of Connected Principals, the founder of Connected Canada, as well as the School Admin Virtual Mentor Program (#SAVMP). His focus is to help organizations create optimal learning environments for innovation within schools.

Although George is a leader in the area of innovation, his focus is always the development of leadership and people and what is best for kids. He uses humour as a way to connecting with all of those that he works with. His presentations are known to be both informative and entertaining, yet creating an emotional connection that helps people move to the next level. His mix of research, personal stories, and practical ways to implement new learning help participants feel comfortable in taking risks in their own learning. Holly Clark

Holly Clark is a technology and innovation specialist from San Diego, California. She has been helping teachers redefine instruction in their classrooms by overseeing both 1:1 iPad and Chromebooks pilots and helping schools implement digital literacy programs. She is a Google Certified Teacher, National Board Certified Teacher, and holds an MA in Technology in Education from Columbia University. She has been working with technology integration and 1:1 environments since 2003. Presently she consults with schools internationally on improving their iPad integration and using Google Apps for Education to empower learning. Holly has taught for over 16 years and is a former administrator.

Ben Friesen

Ben taught junior high science for 7 years and is now a Digital Content Specialist in the Hopkins Public Schools in Minnesota. He is Google Certified Teacher, an authorized Google Education Trainer and serves on the Google Geo Teachers Advisory Board. He enjoys traveling and sharing his passion for connecting students to the world. Ben is the Director of Professional Development – iOS Summits for the EdTechTeam.
